Welcome to the family
history website for the McKerrells of Islay. A number of McKerrell
descendants have been researching the McKerrell surname on Islay for some time.
More
Islay is the
southernmost of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland and has justifiably been
named "Queen of the Hebrides". McKerrells have been recorded on
Islay since the mid 1600s and have possibly been resident there since the
12th century or earlier.

Do you have McKerrells
from Islay amongst your ancestors? If you think you might, visit the
McKerrell Forum and
leave a message or participate in the discussion. Or just write to us
here. It doesn't matter if the name is spelled Mc or Mac, McKerroll or McKerrall,
or some other variation. In the early days, how your name was
spelled was often at the whim of the person writing it!

Thank you for calling in, we hope you enjoy your stay. Please
